Kirkwood Ski Resort is located about a half hour away from Lakeland Village. The only way we will be able to visit this mountain is by pooling our cars.
Slopes for skiers of all ability levels. Steep chutes, powder-filled open bowls and numerous runs with varying terrain. Cross country skiing and Snowshoeing is available at The Kirkwood Cross Country & Snowshoe Center.

Northstar California Ski Resort www.northstarcalifornia.com/
Northstar California is located about an hour and a half away from Lakeland Village in good weather. The only way we can visit this mountain is by pooling cars.
The mountain is an extinct volcano named Mount Pluto. It is a pristine reserve, hidden in trees and quiet valleys. Here you can find superb downhill skiing, cross country skiing, and snowshoeing.

Heavenly Village open air mall, is located about one mile from Lakeland Village Resort where we will be staying. There is free shuttle service between Lakeland Village and Heavenly Village, courtesy of Lakeland Village.
Savor the traditional Tahoe ambiance in the rustic chic atmosphere of this village and enjoy a unique collection of shops, eateries, and entertainment. Live outdoor music daily when the lifts close.

Open air ice skating rink in middle of Heavenly Village in South Lake Tahoe next to the Gondola. Free shuttle from our lodgings at Lakeland Village. TOP OF THE GONDOLA AT HEAVENLY RESORT
Attention non skiers (tourists)! Take an unforgettable gondola ride to the top of Heavenly Mountain! (weekdays only)
Price of gondola ride: $89/$59 adults/seniors
Departure from Heavenly Village – Arrive by 10am at base of gondola in Heavenly Village to purchase same gondola ride only day ticket (tickets for the day are often gone by 11am)
Stop at the viewing platform half way up to take in stunning vistas of Lake Tahoe (the lake isn’t visible from the top of the gondola unless you are skiing) Arrange a meet-up time for lunch with skiers in our group at the top at Tamarack Lodge. The lodge features international food hall style service and has lovely views. Lots of outdoor picnic tables and adirondack chairs are scattered around for sunning and people watching.
Departure from top of the mountain: Depart by 2pm to avoid long line at gondola when lifts close at 3pm
Special note to all skiers and non skiers riding the gondola: Covid courtesy – Gondola operators honor groups that want to practice social distancing. Don’t enter a gondola car if people in it are not from our group unless you ask them if OK first (You might be told by the attendant not to enter)

Carson City is about a 45 minute drive from South Lake Tahoe on good roads. We’ll be gone a good part of the day. This event will depend on pooled cars.
Includes a delightful soak in historic Carson Hot Springs, a visit to the outstanding Nevada State Museum, and a walk through the historic section of town.
