Cross Country Skiing Summarized

Cross Country skiing in South Lake Tahoe Area

There are very few locations in South Lake Tahoe that actually feature groomed terrain. The three places we recommend are at Kirkwood Mountain Resort, Northstar California Ski Resort, and Camp Richardson. Day trips are planned at all these placesm but the trips are dependent on pooled cars.

Kirkwood Mountain Resort

“Cross Country & Snowshoe Center” at Kirkwood Mountain Resort

The cross-country ski area has over 60 kilometers of groomed trails and features easy to advanced routes along their trail system.

For detailed information on cross country skiing with our group at Kirkwood Mountain Resort, visit the posting  “Kirkwood Mountain Resort Day Trip” in this blog. This trip is scheduled for Tuesday or Wednesday and is dependent on pooled cars.

Northstar California Ski Resort

“Cross Country, Telemark and Snowshoe Center” at Northstar California

The mid-mountain cross country ski center has 35 kilometers of scenic trails that are perfect for cross country skiing and snowshoeing.
